COMPANY INFORMATION

A Veteran helping Veterans

John “Jack” Bowdich served in the U.S.A.F. from 1958 through 1965. Jack is a service-disabled veteran who, in his retirement years, wanted to get back to his transportation management roots and fulfill a needed service for his fellow Veterans. To do so Jack formed Air Force One Wheelchair Transit to provide “presidential” level service to Veterans that need wheelchair van transportation services to make their VA medical appointments.

About the Founder

Jack Bowdich

While in the Air Force, and during the Vietnam War, Jack was stationed at bases in Hawaii, Washington, Florida, and the Pacific Islands. His missions included trips to Vietnam and to Pacific Ocean Islands for atomic bomb testing at Christmas Island and Eniwetok Atoll. For the last years of his service, Jack was stationed on Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland in the 89th Air Transport Wing. Jack was selected to serve as an attendant in the Special Air Mission Foreign Dignitary Service, known as “SAM FOX” which includes the President’s plane – Air Force One. Jack served as an attendant for Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson on Air Force One and other aircraft in the SAM FOX fleet. Jack was one of the attendants that flew to Dallas when JFK was assassinated on November 22, 1963. His Air Force One services included trips to Saigon, Paris, New York, Ottawa, Texas, Copenhagen, and Moscow.

Following his service, Jack spent years in the transportation management business – his own version of Planes, Trains and Buses - including working for Braniff Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Amtrak, and Orange County Transit District. Jack enjoys attending SAM FOX reunions and connecting with his fellow Veterans. Here are some of the pictures from various reunions with family and friends, including trips to Andrew AFB and the National Museum of the USAF outside of Dayton, Ohio.
